How to Drain Your RENU Cold Plunge

How to Drain Your RENU Cold Plunge

If you are looking for a step-by-step procedure on how to drain your RENU cold plunge, this is the perfect guide directly from Renu Therapy’s Founder Bill Bachand.

Incorporating draining your cold plunge into your ice bath routine can extend the lifespan of your unit. Here are the 6 ways you should follow:

  1. Attach a standard garden hose to the spigot.Any type of hose will do. Just make sure that the hose is long enough to cover the end to end area and where you want the water to flow out.
  2. Open the spigot - make sure the unit is running. Once the unit is running, the water will be eventually pushed out. Wait until the water is all dried up and drained.
  3. Keep tabs on it. As the water gets low, you want to be ready to unplug the unit so that you're not going to run the pump dry. So, as it gets low, you unplug, and then you're good to go.
  4. Now you've got all the water out, the power's off, and you can go ahead and take the hose off. Make sure to close the spigot back.
  5. Reopen the ball valve, and take a filter change opportunity right here since you're kind of added already.
  6. If you feel like there’s a need to replace the filter, go ahead and get a new filter to replace the old one.

At some point, you will see that there will be a little bit of water left in the unit, at the very bottom. If you want that out, wipe it with a couple of towels.

Just like that, you were able to drain your Renu Cold Plunge. That's about a 15-20 minute job and should be very easy for you.

Ice Bath vs. Cold Shower: What Actually Separates Them?

Ice bath vs cold shower: both trigger a cold response, but they are not equivalent. An ice bath delivers colder, controlled temperatures and full-body immersion—engaging more of your body's cold receptors and producing a stronger, more consistent physiological dose. Cold showers are a legitimate entry point. Cold plunges are the tool for measurable, repeatable results.

Contrast Therapy at Home: Designing a Wellness Backyard in Ten Feet

A home contrast therapy setup needs a sauna or hot tub and a cold plunge in close proximity, ideally a few steps apart. Designer-builder Dagan Koffler fit all three into a ten-foot side yard. The decisions that matter most are proximity to the house, somewhere to sit between rounds, and finishes that match your space.
