When first starting out with a cold plunge tank, it's recommended to limit sessions to ten minutes or less. It's also crucial to consult your doctor to determine what level of cold immersion is safe for you. Generally, with proper safety practices, you can gradually increase your cold endurance as you continue your cold immersion routine.
The Renu Cold Stoic 2.0 and Cold Stoic 3.0 tanks feature a deep design, accommodating individuals up to approximately 6'7" and 275 lbs. For those who are larger or taller, the Renu "Siberian Cold Plunge™ (Large Size)" offers an extended design, providing ample space for cold therapy regardless of size. Both Renu cold tanks come with a matching wooden step for easy entry and exit for users of all sizes.
For cold exposure, the recommended temperature is between 40-60°F (4-15°C), with many preferring 40-50°F (4-10°C) for an optimal cold shock response. Start with 1-3 minute sessions and increase as your body adapts. Always listen to your body and exit if you feel overly uncomfortable.
For warm exposure, a range of 98-104°F (37-40°C) is ideal for promoting blood flow and muscle relaxation. Begin with 10-15 minute sessions and adjust as needed.

Consider accessibility, structural support, and electricity. Can be installed indoors or outdoors on a flat, level surface. Our units require proper clearance to work properly. There are two grills/vents that require certain clearances. These clearances are necessary for both ventilation AND accessibility. The large vent requires at least 27 inches of clearance. In addition to providing necessary ventilation, the large vent provides access to the mechanic's bay which will be regularly accessed for any maintenance and repairs, such as filter changes, water changes, etc. The small vent requires at least 15 inches of clearance. In addition to providing necessary ventilation, the small vent provides access to the front of the water chiller which will be regularly accessed to set the desired water temperature. Setting up the Renu Cold Plunge is a straightforward process that takes just 15-20 minutes. Start by removing the lid to access the mechanics bay and inspect it to ensure everything is in order. Next, confirm that the valves are open for proper operation and secure the chiller in place. Finally, fill the tank with water to the recommended level.

All units use a standard 110V 3-prong plug, however the Cold Stoic 3.0 requires a Requires Dedicated Circuit
The cord is 10 feet long but approximately 30 inches are inside the unit, roughly 7.5 feet of usable cord.
The frequency of filter changes depends on usage, with increased plunge usage necessitating more frequent filter replacements. Routine maintenance involves replacing filters, typically requiring a change every 2-6 weeks for standard filters. The majority of customers opt for filter replacement every 2-3 weeks.
We advise water changes every 4-6 months or as necessary. If utilizing oil buoys and spa mineral sticks for water purification, it's essential to change them out after the 1-3 month lifespan. The duration of the cooling and heating process for the Cold Stoic 3.0 varies based on factors like ambient temperature and initial water temperature. In hotter climates, achieving the desired cooling can take up to a day or a day and a half. Typically, the cooling rate is around 1-2 degrees per hour, while heating generally occurs at a rate of 2-4 degrees per hour.
It's important to note that the Cold Stoic 2.0 does not have heating capabilities.
Our chiller efficiently maintains this temperature with minimal effort. Operating in cycles for energy efficiency, it runs until the set temperature is achieved, then the fan and compressor shut off. The chiller restarts when the temperature rises by 2-3 degrees to ensure consistent performance and energy conservation. For the Cold Stoic 3.0, heaters in general draw more power when in use.
Yes, Renu Therapy tanks are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. They are built with durable materials and have an enclosed mechanic's bay to protect electrical and mechanical components. The Cold Stoic 3.0 features freeze protection. Freeze Protection is designed to maintain the unit at a set temperature, regardless of external temperature changes. All components, excluding the water chiller (covered for 1 year) are covered. An optional 4-year extended warranty for the water chiller can be purchased, extending coverage to a total of 5 years. The Chiller Extended Warranty is available directly from Renu Therapy within 364 days of shipment, providing an additional 4 years of coverage beyond the original 1-year warranty.
